Amit Shah has no plan to ban beef!

Bharatiya Janata Party  national president Amit Shah on Saturday made it clear that the ruling party has no plan to ban beef in Goa. The BJP president is on two-day visit to Goa from July 1 to discuss the partys organisational issues with the local leadership.

During meeting with professionals yesterday, Shah said,”Goa has a law disallowing cow slaughter and it was passed during the Congress regime. We have no plans to ban beef here.”

On being asked about minorities under the BJP rule, Shah said the party has been in power in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan where the population of minorities was more than the overall population of Goa. “Gujarat, MP, Rajasthan have minorities more than the overall population of Goa. There has been no problems in those states,” he said.

“I believe we should eradicate words like minority and majority from governance. Every citizen should be treated at par, and that is being done by our government,” the BJP president added.

This is Shah’s second trip to Goa after the BJP-led government came to power in the state following the Assembly elections held in February this year.
