Maoists are being taken to help neighboring countries to carry out armed movements demanding separate Gorkhaland in Darjeeling. Police have learned that the Maoists have been hired to train party workers on behalf of the movement's Morcha leader.State police adj (law and order) Anuja Sharma said on the basis of intelligence sources that attack on government property, attack on police and government officials could be the main target of the trained Morcha members.
A police official said on condition of anonymity, "Gorkha Janmukti Morcha hired 25/30 Maoists to train their cadres. For the past several years, Morcha has stored a lot of arms. Preparations are going on for an armed campaign in the underground in Darjeeling.Another official said the government is ready to face any situation. Due to the demand for Gorkhaland, there have been incidents of vandalization and firing in different important areas including police stations, government buildings, panchayat buildings, railway stations, for indefinite strike in the last 38 days in Darjeeling.
Gorkha Janmukti Morcha Secretary General Roshan Giri has denied the demand of police about the Maoist assistance in the Gorkhaland movement. In a statement, he called the claim 'baseless'. His claim was that the statement was given to destroy their image and to destroy the democratic movement.Meanwhile, on Saturday night, police officer 'Achanta Gupta' led by the police officer of the Bhaktinagar police station in Siliguri, a Nepali news channel office sealed the office. Based on complaints of Darjeeling district information and culture department, the police have raided and seized important documents.The complaint against the ABN-Nepalese satellite channel, along with the news channel as well as the Facebook page, has been shared with the hate-related stories of the hill movement. Congress legislator Shankar Malakar, Jana Movement Party leader Harka Bahadur Chetri and BJP leader Abhijit Roy Chowdhury condemned the state government's move.
