Rohingyas Muslims have become an international attraction. Some nations have spoken against the ‘killings’ of Rohingyas in Rakhine state of Myanmar, while the UN also has targeted the nation over the same. One of the many nations who’ve come out in support of Rohingyas is Pakistan.
There are around2 to 2.5 lakh Rohingyas living in Pakistan. The Pakistani government is carrying out emotional appeals to save Rohingyas who’re allegedly facing violence in Myamnar. But the people of Pakistan aren’t interested to help and rehabiltate them.
‘The Dawn’ is the most popular newspaper of Pakistan. It’d posted an article on the sufferings of Rohingyas and whether or not they should be given citizenship of Pakistan on its Facebook page. The feedback that it received was surprisingly negative for a nation that claims to be the protector of Islam. Pakistanis claim themselves as the protectors of whole Muslim Ummah but seem to have no space for Rohingyas.
Many Pakistanis linked Rohingya refugees with Afghan refugees whom they hate and accuse of being sympathisers of ‘Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’.
The hypocrisy of Pakistanis is evident. Their concern for their Muslim brethren is nothing but a façade.
But there is one Pakistani who’s the biggest hypocrite of all – Malala Yousafzai. She has spoken against Myanmar and their alleged aggression against Rohingyas. She released this statement on the Rohingya issue –
She is so outspoken on this issue and feels heartbroken for Rohingyas. She then goes on to ask Aung San Suu Kyi for a statement on the matter as if Suu Kyi is accountable to her.
But why doesn’t she speak on the genocide of Balochis? Her own government and army massacre innocent Balochis on a daily basis, rape their women, starve children and old people by cutting off their food supply, and then burn their villages. Is this genocide and exodus that’s going on for many years acceptable to her? Or does she not have the guts to speak against her government and rogue army?It is actually sad that such a hypocrite is given immense respect around the world whereas there are many others who’re more dedicately fighting terrorism and doing good for people.
