8,500 of 10,000 posts of policemen to go to Kashmir

The people of Jammu had voted overwhelmingly and with great enthusiasm for BJP in 2014 hoping that it, if came into power, will redress their age-old grievances and end the 68-year-old discriminatory policies. They had voted because the BJP had during its election campaign and vision document held out such a promise.
However, the BJP has dashed all their hopes to the ground by imitating the Congress-style politics and playing second-fiddle to Kashmiri ruling elite. The BJP, like the Congress and the Jammu-based NC leaders, has abandoned their own constituency to keep Kashmir happy at the cost of the people of Jammu province, who contribute more than 75 per cent revenue to the state exchequer every years but gets in return only crumbs and that too after agitation and struggle.
The Jammu youth in particular was hopeful that they would get their due share in the vital service sector but they have also been left in the lurch. The result is that many educated youth from Jammu have started migrating to other parts of India in search of jobs. They are convinced that the state government in general and the BJP in particular would not do anything for them.
When the BJP came into power in alliance with the PDP in March 2015, the unemployment rate in Jammu province was a whopping 69.75 per cent. Even after 54 months of BJP-PDP rule, nothing has been done to bring the Jammu youth at par with Kashmiri youth. In Kashmir, the unemployment rate was less than 30 per cent.
The selection lists issued by the PSC and Recruitment Board all suggest that the service sector has virtually become the sole preserve of Kashmiri youth and the share of Jammu has declined to the extent that in certain case, the Jammu youth do not get even 10 per cent share. Even other recruitment agencies have failed to dispense justice to the Jammu's unemployment youth.
The latest example is recruitment in the police department. Out of 10,000 policemen recruited were recruited from Kashmir alone. In other words, 85 per cent of the posts of policemen were captured by the Kashmiri youth. This is the principle of justice and equity the BJP has been applying to the marginalized youth of Jammu.
