Padmavati against Bjp president Dilip Ghosh

West Bengal state BJP president Dilip Ghosh criticize that particular intellectuals who observed a 15-minute token strike to condemn the protests by Karni Sena against Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmabati on Monday.

Bengal movie industry-Tollywood’s all producers and directors stalled their work between 12 pm and 12.15 pm. The Bengali film industry has rarely united to call a token strike in protest.

Mr Ghosh present at a temple at Shyamnagar, district of North 24 parganas, West Bengal this evening, was asked whether the decision taken by film personalities to appease Mamata Banerjee Dilip Ghosh said ‘yes, Off course, only the servants are running the film industry. Because for existence in this profession, to make the films, to play the role no other way to abide by Mamata Banerjee as well as her aids, You can do nothing except their consent. I would like to say those intellectuals, were they were at that time when Taslima Nasreen was removed from West Bengal in 2007. If they walked and raised their voice for human rights that time, I would have think them as man. Today they are in the street for the sake of earning- I think this is not a gentleman work.

Incidentally, The protest comes few days after West Bengal Mamata Banerjee too condemned the protest by a section of people against Bhansali and Deepika Padukone. She also welcomed Bhansali to host a premiere of Padmavati in Bengal.

On November 20, Mamata Banerjee condemned personal attacks on the makers and actors of Padmavati and termed the whole controversy as unfortunate.

In a Twitter post, Mamata had said, “The Padmavati controversy is not only unfortunate but also a calculated plan of a political party to destroy the freedom to express ourselves.”
