Criminal prisoners beat up police officer . A office was also vandalized. The incident took place in Hooghly district correction center this evening.
It is learned that 11 people, including the infamous miscreant Nirpu Giri of Serampore, were brought to the Chinsura Court from Presidency Correctional Control. After the hearing in Chinsura Court, they were taken to Hooghly district correction center.


Hooghly Correctional sources said that before reaching the cell, the body of the prisoners was going on a search. The allegations, at that time, beat up a police officer of 11 Correctional Corps including Neeppuri Giri. Vandalism is also run in the office. Seeing this, there went to other police workers. The situation came under control in their intervention.
Chandannagore Police Commissioner's Senior Officers started investigating the incident.
