Balance cut off in savings account reduced to minimum rate.
Own correspondent :- A good news for the savings account holder. SBI has given 75% off Non maintenance of average monthly balance or AMB in savings account. This facility will be available to the account holders from 1st April 2018. As a result, minimum balance of Rs 15 will be cut off instead of Rs 50 in all the metro and big cities by SBI in the savings account's AMB. In the suburbs and the rural branches a minimum balance of Rs.12 will be cut off instead of Rs.40 in AMB and of course an additional charge of Rs.10 as GST.
Atleast 25000 account holders of the country will be profitable from this facility. At the same time, the tension of keeping the minimum balance in Savings is less likely to bother the account holders. In these context, there arose a word that in the past 8 months, SBI has earned a sum of Rs.1,771 crores from AMB for not maintaining the minimum balance, where SBI's July-september's over all profit was of Rs.1,581 crores. After that, for this reason SBI decided to cut the minimum balance in the AMB.
