Over 1000 encounters in last 10 months, 43 dead & 305 injured: No ifs or buts, only bullets in UP?

Yogi Government took the charges of Uttar Pradesh in March 2017 and in just 10 months; the Human Right Commission has served the Yogi Government with 9 notices. But the government hasn’t stopped from being aggressive against the criminals who violate the peace in the society. 3 ambushes between police personnel and criminals are taking place every day in Yogi’s Uttar Pradesh.
‘Our priority is not to kill criminals. ‘If armed men attack cops, they will be fired back.’

With this statement, Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister sparked the encounter debate, giving a free hand to the police to gun down criminals so Ram Rajya can return in Uttar Pradesh.
1000 encounters in 12 months and 43 goons’ dead- 305 injured! That’s the Yogi style of governance

The state has seen a total of 1000 encounters after Yogi Adityanath came to power, in which 305 criminals’ sustained injuries and at least 212 policemen have also been injured. The sad part is that 4 police personnel were martyred.
“Human Rights Commission is a constitutional institution and we respect it. The commission is doing its job and the government is also doing its job. It is correct that the commission takes cognizance of the death of criminals and checks whether human rights were violated or not. But at the same time, our police personnel are also being martyred in encounters with criminals. I hope the commission will show some solidarity with them too”- This is what the BJP spokesperson Shalabh Mani Tripathi had to say.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clearly says that if criminals refuse to reform, no second thoughts will be wasted before they are gunned down. In the last 12 months, Uttar Pradesh has seen over 1000 encounters and despite facing heat from the Opposition, CM Adityanath believes that encounter killings should continue if a crime has to be stamped out.
Meanwhile, activists and family members of these alleged criminals have come out and condemned this killing.

During the tenure of Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the criminals were having a “gala time”. Murders at broad daylight were common but the entire scenario has changed under CM Yogi Adityanth.
