Trouble in Parliament: The session is pending
The work of the two-chamber parliament has been hampered due to the indignation of the Opposition MPs. Today (Tuesday) the Upper House of the Parliament is to be adjourned for a number of times in the Rajya Sabha and the lower house of the Lok Sabha.
As soon as the Lok Sabha was started, Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, along with other members, gathered in front of the Speaker's Assembly to protest on the issue of Punjab National Bank corruption. On the other hand, Telugu Telugu Desam Party members gave slogan 'We want justice' to the speaker's seat with placard hand to demand special packages for Andhra Pradesh.
Likewise, AIADMK and Telangana state committee members also slogan for various demands.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the Speaker of Lok Sabha, went back to his constituency and appealed to calm down but it did not result. He was forced to suspend the session till 12 noon.
Today, the party MPs led by Congress president Rahul Gandhi at the foot of the Gandhi statue gathered in the Parliament premises and placards the country against corruption in the country.
Congress MPs protest with silent posters and placards written by 'Bank of Bahaan, silent quote', 'Prime Minister's answer' etc., about the corruption of the bank who fled abroad.
Today, in the Rajya Sabha, members of the Congress and other opposition parties have protested on various issues including bank corruption. Rajya Sabha chairman M Benkea expressed deep dissatisfaction with the Naidu members. He appealed to those who came down to return to their respective constituencies but the members did not respond.
On the incident, Chairman M Benikeya Naidu said, "Parliament is not a market. The way you plunked the slogan here is against the rules of the Rajya Sabha. You are disrespecting yourself by doing this. 'As the situation was not normal, the chairman was forced to postpone the session of the session at around 11:30 am and then at 2pm.
