All India Strike called off tomorrow
All India Strike called on Monday i.e., on 2nd May. In order to oppose relaxation on Schedule castes and tribes, several dalit communities have called for strike tomorrow. In a press conference on Wednesday call for this all India Strike was declared on behalf of the Samvidhan Bachao Sanghars Committee. Later this closure also got supports of the All India Adi Dharma Samaj and All India Adi Dharma Mission. A proposal of withdrawal of this strike to them was made on behalf of the govt. Central Social Welfare Minister Thaarchand Gehlot himself tweeted, requesting them to withdraw, wrote that the Modi government will not keep any flaw in the development of backward classes of society. Even he had also said that a petition in the Supreme Court will be made for revision of this law.
A few days ago, the Supreme Court had declared that before filing a case of torture against the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the incident will be investigated by an officer of DSP level. Besides, any government official accused in this case has to get permission from the senior authority before the arrest. In a Maharashtra government case, this verdict was given by the Supreme Court. After knowing the verdict of the Supreme Court, several Dalit MPs expressed grievance to meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this. Opponents are also vying against the center.
