Gold smuggler caught in metro rail

Metro rail, a new medium for smuggling of gold . The security in charge, the Metro RPF on Wednesday night arrested a man carrying several kgs of gold jewelry. Later, he has been handed over to the police of Sinthi Police Station. Around 8.30pm that night this passenger with a large bag in hand was about to exit through the security door of Dum Dum Metro station. Suspecting something fishy, RPF personnel scanned his bag. Saw some packets like wrapped objects in it. Then they opened the bag to search properly.

From searching, sixteen packets of gold jewelry weighing about 4 kgs were revealed. While asking the young man could not provide any receipt for those gold items. The young man was immediately arrested and handed over to the Sinthi police. Police interrogated him and is looking out for the rest of the members involved in the gang. Though t has been seen many a times, smuggling of gold via India-bangladesh border or in airports. But smuggling of golds in metro rails, it's probably the first time.
