When we say that democracy in West Bengal is destroyed, there cannot be a better scenario than this. For thirty years, the left parties literally killed West Bengal with their murderous politics. But when Mamata Banerjee took over as CM, people believed that she will bring development and change West Bengal for good.
But what turned out to be a was exactly opposite. Mamata Banerjee followed the same route of Left parties and proved that she was no different from them. She got into appeasement politics which has gone to an extent of supporting terrorists and anti-social elements who have literally taken West Bengal for a ride. The democracy has been killed, the state machinery has been failed, police have neither power nor control over the state. The Chief Minister seems to care for no one other than minorities.
The deteriorating law and order in West Bengal was seen in the recent Panchayat elections where the entire electoral system was turned upside down. BJP candidates weren’t allowed to file nominations, they were threatened, raped and killed on the streets. The ballot boxes were stolen, mass rigging, booth capture and what not!
But now, the goons have gone a step further to show their brutality and killed an innocent 18-year Dalit boy Trilochan just because he supported BJP. In a monstrous act, the Dalit boy was killed and hanged to a tree and on his T shirt, the goons had written that he was killed because he supported BJP.
“You deserve to die for doing politics and working for BJP at this young age” was written on his T-shirt. The incident was reported from a tribal dominated area in Purulia district of West Bengal. The boy was a second-year student at Balarampur College.
The BJP said that the victim, Trilochan Mahato, was killed because he had worked hard for the party in the panchayat election. “After poor show in Purulia in the Panchayat election, Trinamool Congress workers are threatening our supporters. Yesterday, they abducted Trilochan and killed him brutally. His body was hanged from a tree,” said BJP district head Vidyasagar Chakraborty.
According to police, Trilochan had gone to a nearby photocopy shop on Tuesday evening. Around 6 pm, he called his brother Vivekananda and told him that he is receiving death threats on his mobile. Later, he went missing. His body was found hanging from a tree later in the night.
The BJP filed a complaint and demanded an investigation in the murder of the Dalit boy. The sad part is no tolerance brigade has come out in support of the boy, no media has highlighted this brutal event…..why? Just because he supported BJP. If he was a Congress or CPM worker, the entire media brigade would have landed in West Bengal crying intolerance in the country. This is the real face of the so-called secular parties who project themselves as the flag bearers of the secularism in the country.
