Politics is a dirty game, which cannot be predicted. Just a month back we saw all the opposition parties posing together in front of Vidhan Soudha during the oath ceremony of HD Kumarswamy. They all projected themselves to be blood brothers and sisters united to defeat Modi.
But suddenly things seem to have changed so soon that today the allies of Congress are speaking against Rahul Gandhi. The BSP has now openly revolted against Rahul Gandhi and rejected him as the PM candidate for the upcoming 2019 elections. The BSP party workers have even declared that Mayawati will be their Prime Ministerial candidate and they will not accept any other person as PM candidate.
Addressing the first workers’ conference to discuss the party’s strategy for the Lok Sabha election, BSP national co-ordinators Vir Singh and Jai Prakash Singh said it was “high time that Mayawati became the prime minister of the country”, and that she was the only one who could take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Hindustan Times).
“After playing a pivotal role in making HD Kumaraswamy the chief minister of Karnataka, Mayawati has emerged as a powerful politician. She is the only ‘dabang’ (fearless) leader who can stop the winning chariot of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in the electoral battle,” Jai Prakash Singh said.“She is not only a towering Dalit leader but also has the support of all the communities. Time has come when she should be made the PM after the 2019 Lok Sabha election,” he added.
When asked about Rahul Gandhi and the Mahaghatbandhan, Singh said, “Rahul looks more like his mother than his father. And his mother is a foreigner, thus he can never be PM”.
Singh said the BSP chief had more credentials than Congress president Rahul Gandhi to become prime minister. “Mayawati is a grass roots leader who has served as Uttar Pradesh chief minister four times,” he said.
“During the oath-taking ceremony of HD Kumaraswamy, the leaders of opposition parties rallied behind Mayawati on the dais. This clearly indicates that she is playing a pivotal role in anti-Modi alliance,” said BSP state unit president RS Kushwaha.
This statement of BSP party co ordinator has created ripples in the political field. It is well known that in any alliance, most of the party workers will lose recognition and power which has already made the party workers worry. The same situation is prevailing in Karnataka which is witnessing fights and clashes every day with zero governance and zero accountability.
So, the ghatbandhan is already facing many problems even before it takes shape which has made people apprehensive of the coalition government.
