Atish Singha, Mohishadol: A passenger ship had a close save. A passenger ship set sail for the Andamans from Kolkata on Friday afternoon. The ship lost control near Geonkhali Tribeni Sangam of Mohishadol, and collided with a jetti. Though a part of the jetti broke away and fell down, there was no damage to the ship. The sailors in the ship were able to bring the ship in mid river after much endeavor. No injuries were reported. The ship resumed it's sail towards the Andamans, after an hour's struggle by the sailors. Still the locals and nearby Government Officials rushed to the spot on hearing the loud cries of the passengers. A big crowd gathered after the news of the mishap spread, at Rupnarayan river ghat. The police had to struggle to control the crowds. The passengers were saved from a bigger disaster due to the presence of the jetti.
