Kasautii Zindagii Kay Is Back With Season 2

From Komolika's hair twirling to the complicated love story of Prerna and Anurag, Kasautii Zindagii Kay was a serial that had all the elements of typical family drama back in the day.

It's been 17 years since the show was first aired, and it is back with season 2, which producer Ekta Kapoor has promised to lace with her 'personal pain'.

Ekta shared its trailer on her Instagram account today with the caption:

Love never dies!!! When u think it’s over it RETURNS ! Here it is KASAUTI ZINDAGI KAY! 

For those who are wondering, the new lead pair is Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan, both of whom have previously acted in popular TV shows before.

And while Hina Khan is yet to sign the papers, she has almost been confirmed for the role of Komolika.

25-year-old Erica's breakthrough came with the role of Dr. Sonakshi Bose in hit Sony TV show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, which was a love story that revolved around the complicated relationship between the lead pair and an overprotective mother. 

The show got immense popularity and had two seasons.

She has also worked in films like Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (Tamil), Ninnindale(Kannada), Babloo Happy Hai (Hindi) and Galipatam (Telugu). 

But, before becoming a mainstream television actor, Erica tried her hand in modelling and participated in the 2012 Miss India pageant and reached the top 10.

Erica also runs a YouTube channel where she posts videos about beauty hacks and other fashion-related topics and has over 500k subscribers.

As for Parth Samthaan, he became a popular face among the young audience after playing the role of Manik Malhotra in MTV's famous show Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan.

And Just like Erica, Parth too was a model before and became the first runners-up in the Pantaloon Fresh Face 2012. 

From there on, there was no looking back as he became a TV advertisement regular and bagged big opportunities with brands such as Close-up and Coca-Cola.
