A month back, a member of Rahul Gandhi’s IT cell team called Chirag Patnaik was accused of sexually harassing a women who was in the team. The women had written a complaint against the person to Rahul Gandhi and Divya Spandana demanding justice for the plight she faced under him. In her letter she had described that her tenure in the Congress office as a nightmare of harassment. She had claimed that she was sexually harassed by the person Chirag Patnaik for many months and faced an uncomfortable situation in the office in the hands of Patnaik. She had accused him of misbehavior and displaying immoral conduct.
But both Rahul Gandhi and Divya Spandana deliberately ignored her complaints and instead blamed the victim. They went to the extent of threatening the lady and asked her to remain silent.
Finding no other go, the lady had to file a complaint against him to Delhi police after which the investigation was initiated. Now, the Delhi police have arrested Chirag Patnaik on charges of sexual harassment. The case has been filed under Section 354A and 509 of the Indian Penal Code. This is not the first time the Congress workers have been accused of sexual harassment and one of the party workers had himself revealed that women are exploited in Congress if they seek any position.

It is a shame that Rahul Gandhi who speaks big about women reservation Bill cannot provide safety for his own team member. Before making tall claims about women safety in the country, he should provide security for women in his own party office. We are very well aware how safe are women in Congress considering what happened to Sunanda Pushkar.
