In order to have a national outreach ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Samajwadi Party (SP) will organise a state executive meet in Uttarakhand on 30th August and will also be holding programmes in other states.
Speaking to India Today, SP national spokesperson Sunil Sajan said, "The party is organising a state executive meet in Uttarakhand on 30th August to reach out to people ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. We will also be holding events at other states also to reach out to the people."
The party has already decided to contest the upcoming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had visited Madhya Pradesh last month and will soon be visiting the other two poll-bound states to chalk out the poll strategy.
Sources within the party said, "Party will also be holding programmes soon in states like Punjab and Haryana as well. SP national president is also likely to go to these states as well. Our motive is to have a national outreach ahead of the 2019 elections."
