Blowing air to the on-going killings and plotting to murder Hindus all over the country, here’s yet another incident witnessed in the southern part of India. Five people, allegedly plotting to kill three Hindu leaders, were detained by law enforcement agencies.
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Coimbatore police arrested the five terrorists following inputs from intelligence agencies.
According to reports by Police, Arjun Sampath of Hindu Makkal Katchi, Hindu Munnani leader Mookambikai Mani and Sakthi Sena leader Anbu Mari are the three leaders the group planned to eliminate. A group of four landed in Coimbatore, aiming to eliminate three Hindu leaders.
The source told Inspector M Devandran, that a youth was overheard speaking over mobile phone at the Coimbatore Railway Junction about a plan to kill the mentioned Hindu leaders. Immediately, a police team conducted vehicle checks on the Variety Hall Road-Goodshed Road Junction and picked up the accused.
The group initially claimed that they came to attend a marriage, but revealed their entire plan during interrogation.
All the five were booked under Sections 143 and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 15,16,18,20 and 38 (ii) of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and conspiracy. The police sent them to prison.
Inspired by the Islamic State (IS) ideology, Ismail (25) one of the accused, is an IS member and used to share information regarding the terrorist group on his Facebook Page.
As per reports by the Officer, “All of them met through Social Media websites, Ismail confessed with the police. They were inspired by IS and used to share information on WhatsApp and Facebook. They decided to murder Arjun Sampath and Anbu Mari as the leaders allegedly were against Islam in Facebook posts. Ashik (another accused) sent photograph and address of Anbu Mari to Ismail and requested the four youths to come to Coimbatore”.
