Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu meet to Pak PM Imran Khan


A bitter controversy erupted since Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu went for a croos border meet duting the oat taking ceremony of Pak PM Imran Khan.

Sidhu in a press conference said that he had taken first steps to peace and asked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to take up the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for Sikh pilgrims from Indian part of Punjab.

Union Minister of Food and Processing  Harsimrat Kaur Badal in response to this accalaimation excoriated Sidhu for 'lying' about issues regarding Sikh faith to brush up his politicial career.
While Sidhu said that Pakistan is waibtg for an official letter to open up the corridor . Kaur retaliated stating that Sidhu is deliberately making it look like Islamabad is ready to accept Indian pilgrims  Delhi is delaying any peace move .
However, sources and earlier reports have confirmed that despite discussions between Swaraj and Sidhu there had been no information from Pakistani counterparts regarding Kartarpur Corridor.
Also, according to The Indian Express report,  'Sidhu was reprimanded by Swaraj saying his visit to Pakistan was beyond purpose of formal visit',




Pak Foreign Ministry informed that there has been no formal discussion on regarding the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor between the two countries.
