The electronics company Samsung has received great relief in the patent dispute of 828 crores ($ 1.15 million). New York's Appeals court reversed the decision on Thursday saying that Samsung does not have to pay the amount. They did not do anything wrong. This dispute was with the MPEG La Group. In January, the court ruled against Samsung. The company had appealed in the upper court.
The MPEG is a pool group of patents used in the televised set. It was a contract with Samsung. In the year 2015, the group accused Samsung of finishing the contract wrongly.Samsung had settled patent dispute with Apple in June. The case was going on since 2011. Apple accused Samsung of stealing the iPhone's design and basic function.
In the case of Apple, the US Court ordered Samsung to repay 3,880.8 million rupees ($ 53.9 million). Samsung had paid $ 39.9 million already in the past. Both companies have settled before the order of the court comes in the case of the rest of the payment.
