Today at evening Team of CID WB intercepted a Suzuki Versa vehicle bearing no. WB16P 8737 at Dhulagarh Toll Plaza and arrested one wanted criminal Vinod Chouhan (associate of notorious criminal Ramesh Mahato) and his wife Soma Chauhan. About 38 Kg. of Ganja is seized from the vehicle. A 9mm pistol loaded with 5 rds. live ammunition in a magazine from his possession. Both of them are regular smugglers of Ganja from Orisa to the state of WB. They supply ganja to various ganja peddlers in Hooghly, Kolkata, Howrah & North 24 Pgs/ South 24 Pgs etc. Binod Chouhan is FIR named accd. person and wanted in c/w Balagarh PS case no. 149/17. dt. 8.6.17u/s- 302/201/34 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act. He is also wanted in various cases in Hooghly district.
