Bangladesh has drafted a ground-level agreement to start the rehabilitation of Rohingyas who fled from Myanmar's Rakhaine state. Within a few days the draft of the agreement was being sent to Myanmar. It will initially be sent to Myanmar by listing a million Rohingya for starting repatriation.
Foreign Secretary on Thursday. These issues were discussed in a meeting held in the chairmanship of Shahidul Haque. In this meeting held in the state guest house Meghna, discussions about finalizing the physical arrangement for the rehabilitation of Rohingya are discussed.
Earlier in the morning, the Foreign Secretary said. In the chairmanship of Shahidul Huq, the 17th meeting of the National Task Force (NTF), unregistered citizen-related national affairs of Myanmar, discusses the latest situation of Rohingya.
Asked about the contents of the two meetings. Shahidul Haque said in the first light of the evening, "As part of the process of sending back Rohingya, we have drafted the physical arrangement. It will be sent to Myanmar and to discuss it with the country will be discussed. Hopefully, the Joint Working Group (JWG), which led by the foreign secretaries of the two countries to revive Rohingya, will organize a JWG meeting in early January in Myanmar. "
Meanwhile, another official present at the two meetings said that a database of 9 lakh 12 thousand Rohingyas has been created in Myanmar to take refuge in Bangladesh. The list will be given to Myanmar in the first phase from the list of one thousand Rohingya people coming from October 2016. The next list will be sent for returning to Myanmar's scrutiny.
Bangladesh has signed an agreement with Myanmar on Nov 23 for revoking Rohingya. According to the agreement, the Rohingyas that came after October 2016 will only be considered for sending them back.
Meanwhile, when asked about the physical arrangement, one official said, the issues related to the rehabilitation of Rohingya will be detailed in this. Rohingya will go along the route of Bangladesh-Myanmar border, the list of temporary camps in Bangladesh before the Rakhine commemorates, and one of the list of places where Rakhine will go.
Meanwhile, BBC Bangla said, UN Human Rights Affairs Deputy High Commissioner Kate Gilmour said that he is skeptical about the reconciliation between Bangladesh and Myanmar in the rehabilitation of Rohingya. Rohingyas have been subjected to cruelty. This is the first time since the Rwandan killing, so many people displaced so many people. He said there was no inquiry into the torture of Rohingya. They will not be victimized again after the exile, they are not guaranteed.
Kate Gilmour said further, considering the most common basis of international law, Bangladesh will not be able to return the refugees to forced force.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister's Advisor HT Imam told the BBC, "It is more important to reassure the Rohingyas than to reassure the UN. After they return, ensure protection. He said, 'We came to know that they started building some houses beyond the border. The issue has come to a complete implementation stage. As long as there is a positive response from Myanmar, why do we continue to rise and take negative position? '
UK medical treatment to prevent diphtheria
Diphtheria among the Rohingyas who took shelter in Cox's Bazar sent emergency medical emergency (EMT) to prevent rapid spreading of epidemic. The UK High Commission in Dhaka said in a press release yesterday that the EMT came to Cox's Bazar with more than 40 members including doctors, nurses and firefighters. This was the first visit of a delegation to the organization after the World Health Organization (WHO) recognized the EM 2016. After the Christmas holidays, many more doctors and nurses will come to Bangladesh.
Since August 25, after fleeing Rakhine State of Myanmar, so far 6,55,000 Rohingyas have taken refuge in Bangladesh. At least 160 Rohingyas in Cox's Bazar are getting affected by new diphtheria every day. Rohingya children are at the highest risk of this disease.
