India - Bangladesh Friendship Festival

The India - Bangladesh Friendship Festival is celebrated in the sixth year of 'Kamarhati Vivek Festival 2014' under the initiative of Kamarhati Municipality of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. To strengthen the good relations of the two countries, this Maitree festival was arranged on the third day of the festival on Monday evening. Apart from the cultural performances of the artists of the two countries, there was also a fashion show.
Bimal Saha, the organizer of the program, said that the celebration of the 155th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda has started from January 12, till January 23. Every day there are many different functions of the festival. We are celebrating this day as India-Bangladesh Friendship Festival, while highlighting the exchange of two Bengali culture at the other cultural events to the new generation. He also said, "Culture of two Bengal, language, and the same is the same - we want West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to play an active role in strengthening the mutual relations between the two Bengalis.

On the other hand, Biswajit Basu Roy, on behalf of the Indo-Bangla Friendship Association of Bangladesh, said, "Although we can separate two Bengalis with spines, we are actually the same spirit. The language of our two neighboring languages, Bengali, was a movement for the demand of this Bengali language and a state was created. So, through this, the initiative to reach co-ordination with each other, reaching out to the people of Bangla language of both sides of the two-country friendship between the two countries, is the initiative.
