Candidates' family members should also report income source: Supreme court of India
The Supreme Court has given a historic verdict that will show the sources of income for candidates who have participated in different elections. The verdict has been mentioned as well as the sources of income for their wives and family members. The Supreme Court today gave the verdict (Friday) on the basis of the application of a private company named 'Lok Pahari'. As a result, the announcement of the details of the source of income in the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission for the candidates who are standing in the election will be announced. In the petition of 'Lok Pahari' the court mentioned the property of the political leaders to increase rapidly. It is said that the candidates have spoken about themselves and their family property in the affidavit given by them, it always increased a lot after winning the election. For this reason, the candidate has to provide the source of income for himself and his family members. It is said in the petition that 26 Lok Sabha MPs, 11 MPs of Rajya Sabha and 257 MLAs have increased abnormally. In some cases it has increased to five hundred times. In that statistic, a coordinated bench of Justice J. Chelameswar and Justice Abdul Nazir virtually expressed surprise. The court sent the reply to the Central Board of Direct Taxes in response to this. In response to this, the investigation is going on against 7 MPs and 98 MLAs. On behalf of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, the names and investigations of these leaders were sent to the court in the envelope. The Supreme Court also said that special court should be set up to speed up settlement of more property cases than the income of political leaders during the hearing. This is a 'historical verdict': Gautam PalKalyani University senior professor reacted to the verdict of the Supreme Court. Gautam Pal said, "I am very happy in the verdict of the court. I think this is a 'historic verdict'. I think many political leaders are giving false accusation while standing in the election. Do not report income source. Parents, mothers, wives, and sons of their families are not even aware of their income sources. In most cases, Baba is being voted, but his money is being given in the name of his son, wife or relatives. It is shown that the money stored in the bank is very low. 'Professor Dr. Gautam Pal said, 'I think those who stand by the verdict because of this verdict will give a true affidavit and if they give the sources of income to the wives, sons or relatives correctly and if the Election Commission enforces those rules according to the Supreme Court verdict, it will have a far-reaching effect in India's democratic history. .
