Salman Khan was today sent to five years in jail after being convicted in a 19-year-old blackbuck poaching case. Co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were acquitted. After sentencing, Salman was taken to the Jodhpur Central Jail where he will spend the night before his bail hearing tomorrow. According to the court order that convicted Salman Khan of killing blackbucks 19 years ago, the judge held that the "accused is a famous film actor and deed done by him can be followed by public." Salman Khan killed two blackbucks for enjoyment, the court observed as it convicted the actor and sentenced him to five years in jail.
Khan’s lawyers have applied for bail in the Jodhpur sessions court. The bail application will come up for hearing at around 10:30 am tomorrow.
Salman Khan will be lodged in Jodhpur jail's barrack number 2 which is also known as Derh Barrack. The same barrack where Asaram Bapu, was kept over a rape case, also in the same cell too. Tight security has been arranged for him as the man who had earlier threatened Salman of kill is present in the same jail though the superstar will get food and services like every other convict gets in the jail.
