EPF portal hacked

Informations of 2.7 million members from Employees provident fund leaked by the hackers. Employees Provident Fund's website aadhaar.epfoservices. com had been hacked and kept disabled for sometime by the hackers. The central provident fund commissioner informed to the Central Information and Technology Minister in a letter that the Aadhaar portal of IPFO had been hacked. He sought help from the Ministry's technical team to keep the portal safe. The portal was kept disable for quite some time.

This portal mainly connect its user's Adhar number with their provident fund account. The commissioner has wrote in his letter of the Intelligence Bureau's informing the IPFO officials of this portal's hack. This web portal contains its user's name and adresss related every information. A service personnel generally saves 12% of its income in their provident fund. Thus hacking of this portal may reveal their salary related every details. Though their is not any information of leaking of any details but it will be taken care of so that any of such incident shouldn't get repeated.
