The game of Dalit-Dalit is played very much in our country. Even after 68 years of inception of Constitution, it has not been stopped. The reservation-based caste system introduced by Dr B.R Ambedkar was for a period of 10 years only but has been extended by some of the politicians for their selfish motives. Under the guise of reservations, they represent themselves as helpless, poor, afflicted and oppressed when in reality they are the one who is looting the Dalits.
Mayawati who represents herself as a poor politician, always plays her Dalit Card is actually the richest Dalit politician in the country. You will be stunned to know that BSP Supremo Mayawati’s wealth has almost doubled during the time when she was Chief Minister of the state.
In 2004 Mayawati who was not having a house to live is today the owner of “palaces”. In her ancestral place, Badalpur she has a large bungalow with all kinds of amenities. But nobody stays in this house of her’s. This luxurious bungalow has been built by spending crores of rupees. In the Rajya Sabha nomination papers, Mayawati herself has given details of her property.
In 2007 her total wealth was Rs 52 crore which increased to 111 crores in 2012. According to reports upto year 2012 she had Rs 13 crore 73 lakh in her account, Rs 10 lakh 20 thousand in the form of cash, 34 grams gold, 380 carats diamonds whose value stood at Rs 95 lakh. Along with that, she was also having 18.5 kg silver, 15 lakh artifacts and a revolver worth Rs 5,500 whereas In 2004, she only had ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh. But now she has ornaments worth 1 crore.
Besides this, Mayawati owns two commercial buildings at Connaught Place in Delhi that amounts approximately to 20 crores. She also has a residential building worth Rs 62 crore in Delhi and one in Lucknow worth Rs 19 crore. The luxurious houses that she have in Delhi and Lucknow are worth 96 crores.
A bungalow spread over five acres of land in the posh area of Lucknow has been constructed at a cost of around 100 crore rupees which was all the public money. Rs. 86.56 crore was spent on its construction and renovation whereas another Rs. 20.15 lakh was spent on its maintenance. The money spent on the bungalow was also not audited either. In 2004, she used to have a government bungalow and a house worth Rs 1.75 crore only.
In her bungalow, crores have been spent on amenities such as CCTV, meeting hall, dozens of rooms, lockers, bulletproof windows costing 15 lakh each along with two, 20- feet statues on the premises, one of Mayawati and the other of her mentor late Kanshiram besides five marble statues of elephants. During her tenure as Chief Minister her brother Anand Kumar also made huge gains. His fortunes grew exponentially between 2007 and 2014. His net worth rose from nearly Rs 7.5 crore to Rs 1,316 crore.
How anyone’s wealth can rise so fast? Even after being Chief Minister for 12 years and Prime Minister for four years, PM Narendra Modi did not possess this much wealth. But so-called Dalit Minister who has been Chief Minister for four terms possess billions of rupees. Whose money is this actually? From where it has come?
Doesn’t she think of Dalits while spending so much money for luxurious treatment? The money she was spending for getting a rich feel would have been used for the upliftment of the people. She considers herself as a Messiah of the Dalits but she is shame on the name of Dalits. There are many Dalits in the country who do not get to eat food too but these leaders don’t care. They only want to play their Dalit Card during their elections. In the name of Dalits, they people themselves enjoy benefits and use all money and fool the people. If they are so concerned about Dalits then why they don’t help Dalits with their own wealth.
Even Congress Dalit leader Mallikarjun Kharge possess worth 50,000 crore of assets. Kharge who has been the revenue minister since 1980 has earned immense amount of property and assets misusing his position and power. The Dalits should know that their leaders are misusing them for political gains. They should not fall prey to such leaders and should understand who is actually thinking for their benefit and development.
