Veere Di Wedding, starring actress Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, was supposed to be released in several countries outside India. But just before the release, it was known that the woman-centric film was banned in Pakistan.
A report in the Hindustan Times said that the film was being promoted from a number of single screen theaters and cineplaces in Pakistan last week. But at the very last moment Pakistan's Central Board of Film Sensors (CBFC) banned it.
A CbFC official, reluctant to disclose the name, said that the board members agreed to ban the use of the language used by the critics, indecent clothing, objectionable scenes and ban it.
Referring to the pictures of Kareena's photo being not acceptable in Pakistan's society, the official said that the content of this photo can be questioned and after watching it the distributors also withdrew permission to release the film in Pakistan.
This is exactly what the four friends are preparing before going to a wedding ceremony. Karina, along with Sonam, has played in the film Swara Bhasbaar and Shikha Talsania.
Earlier, the Sindhu Film Sensor Board of Pakistan had cut down some of the pictures and gave the certificate clearance, said Distributors. But in the end, when the CBCF image is banned, the Punjab Film Sensor Board also gets the same way.
Meanwhile, two weeks before the Eid holidays to encourage the expansion of Pakistani film, even after the last two weeks, the ban on entire Indian film will be banned in whole Pakistan.
