A Chaiwala cannot become a Prime Minister in India?

India is a democratic nation and anyone can become India’s Prime Minister or the President irrespective of his or her caste and creed. The credit of preserving the democracy goes to each and every Indian, leaving and dead, and not to any person or a family.
But senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has triggered a fresh controversy after he made a chaiwala jibe at PM Modi. Mr Kharge said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been asking, at every function, about what the Congress has done for the country in the past 70 years. A chaiwala like him could become Prime Minister because we preserved democracy”.
This statement has once again proved that the Congress leaders are unable to come out of their mentality of praising their own party for India’s development. The Indians know who had changed the constitution several times, Indians know who had imposed Emergency for a period of 21 months – that had suspended the rights of crores of Indians.
So the party that imposed emergency on India doesn’t have any right to claim that they have preserved democracy. If the democracy has been preserved then the credits goes to each and every Indian, he might a chaiwala or a suit-boot wala but definitely not a particular party.
This controversial statement was slammed by the BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra who said “Mr Kharge you had not “Preserved” democracy for “Chaiwala” ..you had “Reserved” democracy for “Gandhi-Parivarwala” and by the way Democracy is no pickle that a motley crowd of self serving Congresswallas preserved it by applying the masala of emergency!”.
Sambit Patra slammed the mentality of the Congress leaders of supporting a single family. It should also be noted that this is not the first time where the Congress party had resorted on personal attacks against PM Modi.
Even in the past, from Sonia Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi, from Manishankar Aiyar to Priyanka Gandhi, almost everyone from the Congress had made personal attacks against PM Modi. Perhaps this is how the Congress preserves democracy.
After making the chaiwala jibe, Mr Mallikarjun Kharge had also said “There has been consistent attacks on the character of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi. It is a deliberate attack by the BJP. The Congress is a family and we all are its members”.
But his statement is not true becuase the BJP hasn’t made an attack on the individuals but their wrong doings. For example the Emergency of Indira Gandhi and several blunders by Nehru.
Mr Kharge had also said “Modi speaks about the Emergency that happened 43 years back, but what about the unproclaimed Emergency in the last four years? Farmers are committing suicide, agricultural schemes are failing, farmers are not getting new loans and trade is on the slow track”. He even went on to mock PM Modi’s developmetal works by saying “On the other hand, the government’s expenditure on advertising is unstoppable. ‘Acche din’ will come into the lives of people once the Modi government is dethroned”.
What Mr Kharge said today might perish the democracy and not preserve it.
