It is not just rains woes every year, but we there are bridges and buildings collapsing, and then there's the never-ending issue with potholes and open manholes. It seems problems that plague the Maximum city are never ending. So, who is to blame and what can the citizens do on their part to improve the conditions? Celebrities share their views.

Every year, life comes to a standstill in Mumbai. Strict action should be taken against the contractors for not delivering what they are supposed to. What do you pay taxes for? Why is the best material not being used in the construction of buildings and bridges. It is constructed by public money and yet safety is not guaranteed. We should work towards keeping the city cleaner.
MOHIT MALIK
I am disappointed and horrified with the situation in the city. As a citizen, I am scared when I am driving below a flyover or under a tree, because I think it may fall on me. The value of life has gone down and if the acting industry wasn't here, I wouldn't want to live in Mumbai. The roads, infrastructure, potholes - everything makes it pathetic. There is no governing body to help the common man, who is engrossed in his daily life and he doesn't have time to look after the city.
KARAN TACKER
Natural calamities are uncontrollable, but death by infrastructural calamities is just unacceptable. This is the one city where every year, during the monsoons, we are bogged down with the same issues. And now, because of the lack of information about the whole situation, even the blame game feels stale. Eventually, it all boils down to the spirit of Mumbai. Sad but true.
IQBAL KHAN
We, the people, are to be blamed at several levels. We elect the wrong people. When these people who we elect cheat us, we keep quiet. We, as citizens, care a damn about our surroundings. People are littering the city, blocking the drainage system, but all we do is crib. Changing the mindset of politicians will take a lot of time, so it's high time we do our bit and keep the city clean.
VIBHA CHIBBER
The government and municipality are to be blamed. Our infrastructure is not in order even though we face heavy rainfall every year. There are so many illegal constructions everywhere. There is no garbage and sanitation management. Maybe roads should be managed by private companies, then deadlines will be met. When we park our cars in a no parking space, it is picked up but then there are so many disowned cars on the roads which aren't removed. As citizens, we need to question the authorities, and on our part, must stop littering and discourage illegal construction.
VATSAL SHETH
I think all of us are responsible. Yes, the government is responsible for smooth functioning of the city and it has done a lot of good work but it is an ongoing process. But so many citizens instead of voting, take off for a holiday on voting days and later complain. You have to vote responsibly instead of holding others responsible when things don't work out. Now, we have segregation of wet and dry waste and plastic ban, which is helping. But, we must do our part too.
KAVITA KAUSHIK
All I want to say is humans are fu**ed up. Firstly we must control our population, before we engulf all that is available on this planet, and before nature engulfs us all. We are running out of resources because we are consuming it like a devil.
