VP of India who wants Jinnah Portrait and Shariat courts in Indian democracy!

When India became Independent, both Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohammed Ali Jinnah agreed to severe part of India and declare it a separate country because Jinnah thought Muslims need different country. So, Pakistan was formed on the basis of religion and their governance was based on Islamic laws which they called it Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
But India remained a democratic Nation, letting all people who followed different religion without discrimination. Though the constitution provides every individual the right to practice the religion of his wish, it doesn’t allow people of each religion to have their own set of rules in the country. The Indian constitution is considered the supreme and every person is bound to follow the same rules irrespective of which religion he/she belongs to.
But since few days, there has been a debate over implementing Shariat courts in the country after a demand was made by All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board. They claimed that Muslim issues will be sorted out only in Shariat Laws and not in general courts of the country. When the central government rejected their demands, the so called religious heads of Muslim community went to the extent of demanding a separate country for them if Shariat Courts are not implemented.
What was appalling is the former Vice President of India Hamid Ansari came in support of Shariat laws and said each people are free to follow social practice. Having occupied the second highest position in India, it is indeed shocking to hear this man make such baseless and irresponsible statements which demean the constitution of the country.

We pose a series of questions to Mr Hamid Ansari who should probably answer them before making silly comments on India.
  • Firstly, Mr Ansari, do you support the Muslim Cleric demanding a separate country?

  • When AIMPLB says that Shariat Laws will handle the matter of Triple Talaq, do you consider it a social practice? Do you think that suppressing the dignity and rights of women is part of Islamic social practice? If you believe men and women have equal rights, then why did your party Congress oppose the ban on Triple Talaq?

  • What do you think about Female Genital Mutilation, do you also consider this a social practice of Dawoodi Bohra community?

  • If you think each religion have their own set of rules, then why didn’t you speak anything when some people from NDTV called celebrating Holy was equal to terrorizing children?

Coming to another issue where you said displaying picture of Jinnah in AMU is not wrong. But we would like to ask,
  • Who is Jinnah and what contributions has he done to India?

  • Was he the one who divided India based on Religion, if so why so much love towards that person?

  • You said if India can have Victoria memorial, then why not Jinnah portrait? You being occupied VP post of the country should have known that Victoria memorial was not built by Indians, nor did any Indian request for the memorial, it was built in 1906, 41 years before Independence. So how can you compare Victoria memorial with Jinnah portrait??

  • You spoke for Aligarh Muslim University, now why don’t you speak up as to why they have denied reservations to SC / ST and OBCs of the country despite taking massive funds from central government?

  • Why do you expect AMU to have special rules while all other central universities follow one rule?

  • You say constitution and democracy is in danger, but share stage with an organisation like Popular Front of India which has links with terror organisations and working against the National interest? Do you also consider this freedom of expression?

As a common man, we would expect some answers from you Mr Ansari.
