Don't stop NRC: Amit Shah

Launching a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee, BJP president Amit Shah accused her of heading a government that is mired in scams, one after the other. He was addressing a rally at Mayo Road in the heart of Kolkata on Saturday. In his speech, Shah targeted Mamata on an array of issues ranging from her stand on National Register of Citizens, illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators to curbing freedom of the press.
Here are the top takeaways from his speech:

1) Shah hit out at Mamata Banerjee for opposing the National register of Citizens in Assam. He said NRC is the only way to stop infiltration from Bangladesh and accused her of compromising the interests of Indians in Assam and West Bengal for her vote bank politics.
2) Speaking about the BJP's political ambitions, Shah said, "Let me announce from this stage that our victories in 70 per cent of the country are meaningless unless we have a BJP government in the land of Syama Prasad Mukherjee."
