England would have still been somewhat content, had it not been for Joe Root's wicket. Shami came back and got rid of him too, thereby, more than anything else, giving his side the belief and the psychological edge after the first phase on this excitement-filled Day 3. Don't go anywhere, the afternoon session is going to be as fun, if not more. The action resumes at 1340 local (1240 GMT).
With that last wicket of the big fish, India will be the happier side heading in to grab some grub. It's been a good session for them overall too. On a day where the sun is out and the conditions have been ripe for batting, you have to hand over credit to how Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami started things off. They each got an opener and put their side in front. Debutant Ollie Pope was doing well when he came in and joined hands with his skipper for a solid stand, but Hardik Pandya dismissed him with some excellent disciplined bowling.
That's plumb in front! Big fish Root (19) has been removed by Shami. And that's lunch as well. England 89/4, trail India by 18 runs.
