In an attempt to aim at the Prime Minister’s post, the west Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee gets caught in another blunder!! People need to have a positive mindset to understand the difference among illegal and legal. Those who watch with glasses of secularism will find it tough to differentiate. And the Bengali Didi is one among them!!
Adding to the on-going row of National Register of Citizens (NCR), a video dating back to 2005 has exposed the apparent hypocrisy of West Bengal CM. The video clearly shows Banerjee opposing illegal immigrants in India in the year 2005.
The video shot on August 4, 2005 dates back when Banerjee was in the opposition and the state was under the CPI (M) rule. She held very differing views on the issue at that time.
“Illegal migrants from Bangladesh are also part of the voter’ list in West Bengal. The state government has done nothing about it. Therefore, the issue must be discussed,” Banerjee has said in the year 2005.
When deputy Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Charanjit Singh Atwal, disallowed her notice to raise the issue, a fuming Mamata had walked towards the Well of the House and had thrown a sheaf of papers at the Speaker’s chair, and had stormed out of the House.
The Trinamool Congress chief had previously attacked the BJP-led government in the state and the Centre, when Assam released the draft NRC list which left out 40 lakh people of the state. She had accused them of “forceful eviction.” Saying that people had become ‘refugees’ in their own state, Banerjee said that the Centre was targeting Bengalis and Biharis.
There is a minor difference Jeha-Didi, Biharis, Bengalis, Assamese, North Indian, South Indians are all legal citizens of India, not illegal aliens!!
Presently in 2018, Speaking at a press conference at the Constitution Club of India, Banerjee said, “What is going on in Assam? The NRC problem. It is not only the Bengalis, it is the minorities, it is Hindus, it is Bengalis, it is Biharis. More than 40 lakhs people voted yesterday for the ruling party and suddenly today they have been made refugees in their own country.”
She further said, “I am surprised to see that the names of our former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed’s family members are not on the NRC Assam list. What else can I say? There are so many people whose names are not there.” The TMC chief added that she did not support the NRC as she did not want to see her “motherland divided.”
It is quite natural for the lady from Bengal to get rattled. After all her state too has welcomed illegal immigrants in Lakhs in number since 1977. Earlier by left and now more openly by TMC. So except foolish rhetoric what else can she resort to? She has reached that position she will create mess all around! When she does not even know the difference between immigration and citizenship what more we can expect from her?
