Today many of the main stream media published a story saying that a man was arrested by the Yogi government in UP for making derogatory comments against Yogi Adityanath.
This news was first reported by Press Trust of India (PTI). According to PTI, a man called Umesh alias Lakku Nagar was arrested after he passed comments against UP CM and was booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 452 (house-trespass), 147, 148 and 149 for rioting.
The PTI report further said that …
Police had registered case at the Dankaur police station late Sunday night against Nagar on a complaint by Hindu Yuva Vahini zonal president Naveen Pandit. “Pandit had objected to a vulgar dance show and a qawwali programme during the Drona fair held in the district last week. “Nagar later called up Pandit and abused him and he also made derogatory remarks against the chief minister,” Station House Officer (SHO) Farmood Ali Pundir said. He said an audio clip of the conversation had gone viral on September 7 after which Sub-Inspector Pawan Kumar lodged a non-cognizable report (NCR) in the case.”But on Sunday night, Nagar along with his four aides reached the house of Pandit brandishing a pistol and threatened to kill him,” the SHO said citing the complaint.
This was the whole story. But what the main stream did was to selectively pick the statement which only says that Nagar abused Hindu Yuva Vahini and Yogi Adityanath and came up with a misleading headline saying….
“Man makes ‘derogatory’ remarks against Yogi Adityanath, arrested”
The same headline was picked by all main stream media with a malafied intention of projecting Yogi government as intolerant to criticism.
What these people failed to highlight was this man was not arrested because he used derogatory language against Yogi government, but because of Sunday night, Nagar along with his four aides trespassed the house of Pandit and threatened to kill him with a pistol. Only after this incident did the police arrest him and filed a series of a complaint under attempt to murder, house trespass and multiple cases of rioting.
So, check how the entire main stream media twisted the facts and gave a misleading headline. Should these people be called journalists? should these people be called neutral? Are they doing it on orders of their masters? how much do they get paid for spreading such lies?
This is exactly why the main stream media has lost complete relevance and people no longer consider it trustworthy.
