Moving further and thinking about the betterment of Women workers in India, PM Narendra Modi has taken a major step intending to do this Nobel deed under his Era of increasing incentives and providing free Life Insurance cover for all those ASHA and Anganwadi workers in India.
According to a communique from the Prime Minister’s Office, the remuneration for those with the government’s Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) scheme and Anganwadi workers will be increased. And this will be effective from October of this year.
During a video bridge interaction with lakhs of ASHA, Anganwadi and Auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM) workers, PM Modi announced the doubling of routine incentives given by the Union government to ASHA workers. In addition, all ASHA workers and their helpers would be provided free insurance cover under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and the Prime Minister Suraksha Bima Yojana.
He also announced a significant increase in the honorarium given to Anganwadi workers. Those receiving Rs 3,000 so far, would now receive Rs 4,000. Similarly, those receiving Rs 2,200, would now get Rs 3,500. The honorarium for Anganwadi helpers has also been increased from Rs 1,500 – Rs 2,250.
Anganwadi workers and helpers using techniques such as Common Application Software (ICDS-CAS), would get additional incentives ranging from Rs 250 -Rs 500 based on performance.
LPG Subsidy, Electrification of Rural villages, Education for the Unprivileged, Make In India generated Employment, Generic Medicines for the needy, Black Money curbed, Digitization of India and now driving away Malnutrition from India.
Now, let’s have a look at the each of the factors above. Each of them relates to the working class or the lower income category of India. Each of the initiative led by PM Narendra Modi has been in interest with the poor and working class section of the society. Thus, his vision is clear enough. He wants to work for the upliftment of the needy and in turn, develop the nation.
Appreciating and Interacting with the ASHA and Anganwadi workers, the PM advised them to use innovative means and technology, improve the delivery of health and nutrition services, thus achieve the goal of the POSHAN Abhiyan under the National Nutrition Mission of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
