If any person would have commented on Hindu religion or Hindu culture, the entire pseudo liberal brigade would have appreciated the person and termed it freedom of speech. At the same time, if any Hindu organisation had opposed anyone abusing them, they would have called the entire religion intolerant.
But here is a Christian organisation which has filed a case against music maestro Ilayaraja for comparing Jesus Christ and Ramana Maharishi over resurrection. The Church organisation called Indian Church Renewal – chief Gregory Ashok Arokiasamy filed a petition against Ilayaraja in magistrate court in Bengaluru. The Chief Gregory alleged that Ilayaraja had hurt the feelings of crores of Christians and therefore he needs to be punished.
Recently, Ilayaraja had given a interview to Google where he compared Jesus Christ and Ramana Maharishi, in which he said “I regularly watch documentaries on Youtube. It is said that Jesus was not resurrected, the True resurrection has happened to only one person, Bhagavan Ramana Maharishi at the age of 16.”
This statement of his irked the entire Christian organisations who went to the extent of threatening Ilayaraja. Ashok Arokiasamy on his facebook post threatened Ilayaraja and said “we will not leave you until you kneel down (and seek apology)”. This news was reported by Swarajya which highlighted how the Christian missionaries were indulging in threatening.
Although Ilayaraja was born in a Christian family, he embraced Hinduism later in his life which was not well received by the Christian community and have been targeting him on many occasions. It is sad that the entire liberal brigade have gone silent and have not uttered a word of support to Ilayaraja but are supporting Christian missionaries who have stooped to a level of threatening Ilayaraja and demanding him to kneel down and apologise. But the so called liberal brigade doesn’t dare to call these Christian missionaries intolerant, as they are very close to their Italian boss.
