The increase in the prices of petrol and diesel since August 1 is nowhere to decline. The common man is facing difficulties because of the increase in daily prices. Every day there is a slight increase in prices of petrol and diesel. The government does not seem to have any impact on the price of oil prices. Although there was no increase in prices due to no fluctuations in the stock market on Wednesday, customers got little relief but on Thursday prices have increased once again.
Today, petrol and diesel prices have increased in Delhi by 12-12 paise. Now petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 83 per liter and diesel will cost Rs 74.24 per liter. In Mumbai, petrol and diesel have seen an increase of 13-13 paise. Petrol will be available at Rs 90.35 per liter and diesel at 78.82 rupees per liter.
On Tuesday, petrol price in Delhi increased by 14 paise and diesel prices had increased by 10 paise. After that, the price of petrol in Delhi was Rs 82.86 per liter and diesel was at Rs 74.12 per liter. In Mumbai, the price of petrol was Rs 90.22 per liter and the price of diesel was Rs 78.69 per liter. This was the first time that prices of petrol in Mumbai reached Rs 90.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on the demand of reducing tax on petroleum products, said that such a reduction will not provide long relief as the current crude prices have huge volatility in the international market. At such a time, if the Central Government takes any measure of reduction in excise duty and the value added tax (VAT) of the states, its effect will also end in a few days as the crude oil prices are not stable at this time.
