Salman Khan: Priyanka Chopra called Arpita 1000 times to work with me in Bharat

The exit of Priyanka Chopra from Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat has become the talks of the season. While we all know that due to Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s engagement that coincided with the Malta schedule of Bharat, PeeCee decided to opt out of Bharat. While the news of her exit was shared by the director of Bharat, soon PeeCee was replaced by Katrina Kaif. Now while we made peace with Priyanka’s exit from the film, we get to hear that it was Priyanka herself who badly wanted to be part of Bharat. That’s right!
After a lot of speculation, Salman Khan finally clears the air that it was Priyanka Chopra who called Arpita a thousand times. At the launch of reality show Bigg Boss 12, the actor said, “It must have been very difficult for her to make this decision because she was very keen to work on this project. She has called up Arpita a thousand times, saying, 'I want to work with Salman'. She has even called up Ali (Abbas Zafar) and told him, 'See if you can get me something in this film'.”
And if this was not enough, Salman revealed that Katrina was always the first choice for Bharat. In an interview to Mid-Day, the actor had said, “I'm glad Katrina is part of the film. She was Atul's first choice. But Priyanka called Ali and said she wanted to do Bharat, so we considered her. It was sweet of her to tell us five days before the shoot that she couldn't do Bharat.”
PC was supposed to make a comeback in Hindi films with Bharat. The last time she appeared in a Hindi film was way back in 2016 in Prakash Jha’s Jai Gangaajal. Apart from Bharat, the other Hindi film in her Bollywood kitty is Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink where she stars alongside Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.
Recently, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan wrapped up the schedule in Malta and will soon be heading to Abu Dhabi for the next schedule.
