The mysterious death of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhya during Indira Gandhi’s tenure will be reopened by the Yogi Government?

Since coming to power in 2014, and even before that, there is one name that is often heard in Prime Minister Modi speeches. Do you know who this person is who is very close to heart of our PM Modi?
I am talking about the legend Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, RSS thinker and co founder of the political party Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later become Bharatiya Janata Party in 1980.Not only he reserved space in PM Modi speeches but also in various schemes of PM Modi Government such as Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana and Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana. The MughalSarai railway station in Uttar Pradesh is recently renamed after him by Uttar Pradesh Government.
The icon of BJP has spent his whole life propagating the theory of Integral humanism, which was later adopted by the Jana Sangh in 1965 as its official philosophy. In 1951, he joined the RSS’s political wing, the Bharatiya Jan Sangh and soon became its general secretary.Under his leadership, the Jana Sangh became a major political force and rose from four seats in 1957 to 35 in 1967. He also launched many monthly magazines such as ‘Rashtra Dharma’, weekly ‘Panchjanya’ and daily ‘Swadesh’.
But what is mysterious about the life of this Hindutav icon is his death. It has been more than 50 years but still no body has been able to resolve this mystery. According to the website dedicated to Deendayal Upadhyay by the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, “Around 3.45 a.m. on Feb. 11, 1968, the leverman at the Mughalsarai station informed the Assistant Station Master that about 150 yards from the station, towards the south of the railway line, a dead body was lying near the electric pole No.1276.” It was later discovered that the body was of Deendayal Upadhyaya who was travelling from Lucknow to Patna.
Nobody knows whether he was murdered or died in an accidental death. Even Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy have expressed doubts over his mysterious death. He hinted that there could be a larger conspiracy behind his death. He said it could be a murder with a political motive. He too expressed the doubts over CBI enquiry in this case
“Deendayalji was killed while he was travelling by train from Lucknow to Patna. It was claimed, in a cover-up investigation by the CBI headed by the then DIG John Lobo, that he had been pushed out by robbers just before the train entered the Mughalsarai (previous name) station, said Dr. Swamy.
The BJP leader said his sources in the Union Home Ministry told him that the coach the Jana Sangh leader was travelling in did not have a single co-passenger with a genuine identification or address. All had fake addresses and IDs.These clues itself indicates big conspiracy.
Swamy requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to set up a multi-disciplinary special investigation team to solve the case. Last year BJP worker Rakesh Gupta had also written to the home ministry, seeking an investigation into the mysterious death of Upadhyaya. After which the central government asked for a report on the issue from the UP government, which in turn asked SP (Railways) of Allahabad to probe the matter. The report filed by the SP recently mentioned that all documents related to the death of Upadhyaya were missing, including the FIR report and the case diary. However, the register of the police station states that three people were arrested and one of them was even convicted and given a four-year jail term
It is likely that CM Yogi Government will order CBI inquiry into Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Death. This is good move by CM Yogi Government. There are many such conspiracies which were floated under the carpet by UPA but the case should be reopened and truth should prevail.
We pay heartly tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s on his birth anniversary and salute him for his contribution to the nation.
