Inter-University T 20 tournament 2017-18 is being organised by University of Kalyani at Bengal Cricket Academy ground, Kalyani. The tournament started on 28th March 2018 and the final match will be held on 31st March 2018. In the inaugural program Honourable Registrar Dr D Roy and Dr. Madhab Chandra Ghosh, Dean of Student's Welfare of University of Kalyani were present and Mr. Anu Dutta, Assistant Secretary, Cricket Association of Bengal was also present there.
On first day Match no. 1 Calcutta University won by 98 runs against Viswa Bharati University.(C.U.- 160/6 and Viswa Bharati - 62/10). Man of the match was Tanmoy Kundu (100 runs in 63 balls and 2-4-4) of Calcutta University.
Later on first day Match no. 2 University of Kalyani won by 7 wickets against Tech. St. Gymkhana.(Tech st. Gym.-81/10 and K.U.-84/3). Man of the match was Suprio Debnath (4-20-4) of University of Kalyani.
On second day 29th March, Match no. 3 Jadavpur University won by 21 runs against Rabindra Varati University (R.B.U -131/9 and J.U.-110/6). Man of the match was Tapendu Mandal (32 runs of 32 balls and 4-11-1) of R.B.U.
Later on second day Match no.4 North Bengal University won by 3 runs against Budwan University (N.B.U.-135/8 and B.U.-132/10). Man of the match was Samrat Hossain (4-19-3) of N.B.U.
Susanta Das, Coach University of Kalyani said, "our boys showed a magnificient performance till the semifinal match when we were defeated by the Calcutta Uuniversity by 12 run after a hurt-stopping fight."
Dr. Madhab Chandra Ghosh, Dean of Student's Welfare of University of Kalyani, told this corespondent, "Inter-University T 20 tournament 2017-18 is being organised by University of Kalyani at Bengal Cricket Academy ground, Kalyani the final match of the T 20 tournament between Calcutta University and Rabindra Varati University will be held at our University's at Bengal Cricket Academy ground this noon."
