Own correspondent: - Big Ben, a gift from the Calcutta municipality to its citizens on this Pahela Baishak. This magnificent watch has been made in the Muchipara market. Though the Idea is borrowed from London but there is no trace of British architecture in it. The terracotta art of Bengal has been carved on the statue of Rabindranath to create this Gitanjali watch. It is being called as the Big Ben of Bengal. Calcutta Municipality has created the clock at a cost of 18 lakhs.
