Central Investigation Agency (CBI) wanted to arrest Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and then Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The former deputy inspector general of the state (DIG) DG Vanzara said this on the special court hearing on Tuesday in the Israt Jahan Fake Encounter case.
Lawyer VD Gazard, who sought discharge for the DG Vanzara, claimed that even though the CBI expressed the desire to arrest Modi and Shah, "fortunately" could not do it. Gazard claimed that the charge sheet was "named" against his client in this case and there is no evidence of evidence against the former police officer.
Although Modi is now the Prime Minister, the president of Shah Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Banjara, who is on bail in this case, is already present in the same court.
In 2014, the central organization gave a clear letter to Amit Shah on the basis of "insufficient evidence". In June 2001, a group of vanjaras were shot dead by Ishrat Jahan, 19, Mumbai's Javed alias Pranesh, Pakistani national Jasan Johar and Amjad Ali Rana, in June 2001.
Retired SP Amin is now the lawyer claiming that the Gujarat cadre IPS officer Satish Verma had assisted the CBI in the investigation, he "was robbed of evidence".
Former DIG P.P. Pandey applied for a compromise with a co-operative association. The court posted the case for hearing on June 15. Last year, Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Taslim Butazpati fraud case were exempted.
