After winning 163 seats out of 200 seats in 2013, here’s why BJP will once again win the Rajasthan state assembly elections!

In the 2013 Rajasthan state assembly election that was held on 1st December, the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Vasundhara Raje Scindia had secured a thumping victory by winning 163 seats out of 200 seat assembly.
Several existing polls had predicted that BJP would not cross the majority mark but to everyone’s surprise, the Congress party had to settle for just 21 seats. It was one of the biggest defeats to the Congress party in its history.

After 5 years, the election has once again arrived and once again like it happened 5 years ago, the leading media houses and the political analysts who felt Mr Modi would not win the 2014 Lok Sabha elections are saying that BJP would face a pathetic defeat. Their argument is that the Congress party is revived under the leadership of youth leader Sachin Pilot and former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
But the ground situation is totally different. From the year 1949 to 1977, the party that ruled the Rajasthan state was the Indian National Congress but after Emergency, the fortunes for the Congress party changed.
In the year 1977, for the first time a non-Congress government was formed in the state by the Janata Party but it was dismissed by Indira Gandhi in 1980. So from 1980 to 1990 the Congress government was ruling the state but in 1990 the BJP rose to power but once again the government was dismissed. Even this time the Congress was at the power in the centre. One must learn the art of dismissing the elected governments from the Congress party.

But this time people were with the democratic values as they voted for the BJP in the 1993 assembly elections. But in the year 1998 the Congress party rose to power once again and Ashok Gehlot became the CM.
But in the year 2003, Congress was again defeated by the BJP under the leadership of Vasundhara Raje Scindia but in 2008 the Congress party once again won.
In 2013 assembly election, the BJP scored an unpredictable victory in the state of Rajasthan. So the electoral history of Rajasthan says that in the past 25 years, no party was elected for 2 consecutive terms. This might be a reason why many are saying BJP might not win another term.
But BJP will once again win in Rajasthan. Here’s why!
  • The Congress party had said “we sought the final approval for the party programme for next six months (from Gandhi). All the leaders in unison assured that the programme will be implemented jointly. Rahul Ji wished them good luck”.
  • Yes the Congress party is hesitating to name its CM candidate. It shows they are sure that the people will dump the Congress if they ask vote in the name of Ashok Gehlot, the former CM.
  • Even Vasundhara Raje lacks the mass appeal like that she had years back. But she has one advantage and it is the Modi-factor. Yes, the whole nation knows that the 2019 Lok Sabha election kick starts from the Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.
  • The party that conquers these 3 states is sure to hold an edge in the 2019 assembly elections. That’s why the people consider it as Modi vs Rahul and not as a state assembly election.
  • Today PM Modi kick started the campaign in Jaipur by making a scathing attack at the Congress party saying “Several leaders who are called stalwarts of the Congress and former ministers are out on bail these days”.
  • So PM Modi has started the campaign well in advance and has indicated that BJP will not let go the state in this election.
BJP will win 180 seats out of 200 seats says BJP state Chief Ashok Parnami. He said “Congress has always played politics of appeasement and divided the people based on their castes due to which it is fading away in the entire country. BJP will win 180 seats in Rajasthan assembly election”.
