At 48, Rahul Gandhi’s silly-childish behaviour may have brought a permanent dent to his political career

We often quote a saying “Once done its funny, twice is silly, thrice is stupid”, probably this holds good for Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour in Parliament.
Yesterday’s parliament session was on one of the most serious issues of no confidence motion which was raised by the opposition which needed serious discussions and debate pertaining to a country’s development and future. PM Modi had tweeted about the same in the morning requesting all the parties to utilize the time productively. However, for some people, it became a fun event to showcase their theatrics to gain the attention of media.Just like how a child would expect the entire family to see him take the first steps and applaud, at the age of 48 Rahul Gandhi expected the entire country to see him learning to speak. What he did not realise is that he has crossed the age of learning basics and should have shown mature behaviour.
While the entire country was watching him speak in Parliament, the best thing he could have done was to present facts and figures and then put forth questions based on facts. But a man, who has spent his entire life in luxury and hasn’t got the slightest idea about Parliamentary debates, took the opportunity to display his theatrics talking out of context without facts.
He got carried away during the speech-making silly arguments and false allegations which only exposed his shallow knowledge on every subject. He accused the Modi government of hiding Rafale deal agreement deliberately from the public and claimed that there was corruption.
If Rahul Gandhi really cares for his image, he should have probably understood what blunder he committed by dragging the French President.
It was not just with Rafale deal did Rahul Gandhi show his lack of knowledge, but claiming GST was first brought by him, calling MSP a Jumla, accusing PM of helping 15 businessmen were something which were political rhetoric statements and not substantive.
But the worst came when he called the surgical strike, Jumla Strike which has not only irked PM Modi but the people of the country and the Armed forces. Time and again Rahul Gandhi has targeted the soldiers and mocked them for conducting a surgical strike on Pakistan, which is nothing but an act of treachery. Supporting China on Doklam issue and secretly meeting Chinese envoy were something which posed questions if Rahul Gandhi was working against India in real!
Losing track of the speech, Rahul Gandhi started praising PM, RSS, BJP and thanked them for teaching the values of being a Congress, Hindu, a Shiv Bhakt and even a Hindustani. Most of his own party men were confused and didn’t know how to respond to his statements. A man who was supposed to question government bringing no-confidence motion started to thank them for teaching him the values of being an Indian, indirectly hinting that he had no idea of being an Indian before.
He restlessly asked the Prime Minister to get up from his seat and forcefully hugged him which sent a negative message to all his fellow Congressmen. His childish behaviour of winking at his colleague Jyotiraditya Scindia made him look like an irresponsible teenage boy unaware of the decorum in Parliament. The entire episode of Parliament debate yesterday seems to have made a permanent damage to Rahul Gandhi’s image of being a serious politician. This was quite apparent with the type of tweets and messages people were posting on social media platforms. Questioning his conduct, behaviour and lack of seriousness on an important day has not only made people lose hope on him, but his own allies have started to doubt his ability.
Wasting people’s money for a drama in Parliament and deliberately delaying the bills from getting passed is something which has annoyed the people of the country.  It is only Rahul Gandhi who should realise politics is not his cup of tea. If he could not learn anything for 48 years despite being in a political family, it’s for sure he cannot learn anything in the future as well.
Moreover, Prime Ministership is not an internship program where people can occupy and then start learning things, putting the entire country into risk. It is foolish to think Rahul Gandhi would manage the responsibility of the country, while he cannot control his own conduct. It is better he steps down and let other people in Congress take over the party.
