Even Afzal Khan had hugged Shivaji, not for friendship, but to kill!

In the history of independent India, perhaps there was never such a “No Confidence Motion” drama where even though Prime Minister Narendra Modi won the support of the elected representatives, but the opposition made sure that India’s democratic values faced a pathetic defeat.

When we turn around the pages of history, we find how Atal Bihari Vajpayee faced defeat due to just one vote in the “no confidence motion”. Perhaps Manmohan Singh was the luckiest Prime Minister ever. Though the corruption was rampant, he never faced a “no confidence motion” against his government.

But the most number of no confidence motion was faced by Indira Gandhi: 12 times between 1966 to 1975 and 3 times between 1881-82. Morarji Desai resigned even before entering the parliament as he was unable to face the no-confidence motion that was moved against his government.

The PV Narasimha Rao’s government’s victory against the no-confidence motion was like a T-20 match. 265 votes were against the motion and 251 supported the no-confidence motion. But there was a shameful incident that took place in the history of India and that was “horse trading”.

10 MPs belonging to the JMM and the Janata Dal had cast their votes to defeat a no-confidence motion moved in the Lok Sabha against the minority government of P.V. Narasimha Rao. But it was said that the JMM MPs were bribed to support the government. This indicates that Congress party is ready to go to any extent just to retain power.

Since India got its independence, it was impossible for the Congress party to be powerless. Jawaharlal Nehru had suppressed Patel to became the first PM of India. Similarly, when there arised a situation when Indira Gandhi would have had lost her power, she imposed emergency.

While Rajiv Gandhi won due to the sympathy wave that was prevailing in the nation after the death of his mother Indira Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi literally ruled the nation for 10 years behind a mask called Manmohan Singh.

Now it’s the turn of Rahul Gandhi. Perhaps if it was not Narendra Modi in the chair of Prime Minister, then the Congress party would have easily throne the PM from the chair. But for the first time since India got its independence, Modi is the man who is gutsy enough to stare into the eyes of the Congress, standing right in front of them.

When Indians started to feel that they got a leader in the name Jai Prakash Narayan who could lead the nation, again the people were disappointed. Many of the leaders who were roaming with Mr Narayan slowly turned to be the loyalists of the Congress party. Even Jai Prakash Narayan realized this, but it was very late.

Slowly the nation was getting filled with leaders who just wanted to enjoy in the public funds. These had mastered the art of fooling the people during the election season. When someone died, these used it to gain sympathy wave to win elections. These even used caste, creed, religion, language as a tool to garner votes, but never ever tried to develop the nation. This was what the Britishers wanted, isn’t it?

As if Rahul Gandhi got motivated after lying on Rafale Deal, he went on to hug Prime Minister Modi. The way he hugged was totally weird. Soon after the hug, the reaction of PM Modi was watch worthy. After the hug, Rahul Gandhi turned back towards his chair, that’s when PM Modi called him back, whispered something and patted at his back.

Rahul Gandhi would have gained headlines as a “mature politician” if he had stopped there. But we all know that Rahul Gandhi belonged to a rarest of the rare clans. That’s why soon after reaching his chair, he turned towards his guru KC Venugopal and winked at him. The wink can be decoded as “Hey bro, didn’t I rock the parliament by following the script?”

And the media was smart enough capture this wink. Rahul Gandhi was even schooled by the speaker Sumitra Mahajan for exhibiting his monkey tricks. But at this time, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav who had earlier been to dinner with Rahul Gandhi, praised the youth icon by tweeting “Oh that wink my friend! Hit them hard where it hurts..Congratulations for unearthing their mines of lies and a fantastic speech Rahul Gandhi”.

Looking at this, one thing was clear that the entire drama was pre-planned by the Congress party. Few days prior to the no-confidence motion, a Twitter trend in the name #TalkToAMuslim was created. Few hardcore communal even asked to spread love and not hate. The same mantra was chanted by Rahul Gandhi in the parliament.

Even though Congress party knew that the no-confidence motion would go futile, they made sure that Rahul Gandhi’s speech, hug and wink would get highlighted in international level. And this was much needed for the pundits in Congress party’s war room.

The preparation was such that just minutes after Rahul Gandhi hugged PM Modi, BBC News published an article titled “India’s PM Narendra Modi startled by Rahul Gandhi hug”. But we knew that even God was with PM Modi. That’s why Rahul Gandhi failed in succeeding in a no-confidence motion, failed in winning the support of grand alliance, failed in projecting front of the people that he was a leader. Even failed to lead the men who trusted in him.

As usual Congress President Rahul Gandhi succeeded in clinching the moral victory. The Congress party should now prepare for another moral victory in the 2019 elections.
