Kolkata: Interstate Tortoise smuggling racket busted

The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau stopped an interstate rare species tortoise smuggling racket on Sunday. One man was arrested from the gang named Subhasish Nath from Behala in West Bengal. The officers had an inside source about the smuggling deal and they waited the entire day at the spot where the deal was busted. It was near Vivekananda Women’s College at Behala. 14 star species tortoises were discovered and rescued. WLCC officers are now in search of the rest of the gang.
