Modi Govt will provide free WiFi at all 6000 railway stations in just 4 months! Arvind Kejriwal, when will Delhi get free WiFi?

The Modi government is known for implementing and achieving the unthinkable schemes and moves. For example, demonetization and GST, which will boost the economy in the upcoming days. Now the Modi government is all set to carry out another humongous task of providing free WiFi to almost all the railway stations of India within the next 4 months.
While launching the project ‘The Railways-Lifeline of the Nation’ (digitization of Indian Railway Heritage and bringing it online for wider dissemination and worldwide viewing) which is in collaboration with Google Cultural Institute, Railway minister Piyush Goyal said that 711 railway stations in India are already equipped with free WiFi and within the next four months, 6000 station will be having free WiFi.
Here’s what the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said;
  • Google with railways has provided free WiFi in over 400 stations, this shows how powerful collaborations can be and how it can be used to serve the people.
  • We should expand this to all 6000 stations so that local people in the vicinity of the stations, particularly from the poor or marginalised sections of the society can use this and enjoy the fruits of the country’s development.
  • We have offered over 5000 stations for public private partnership on Rail Sahayog website for WiFi…maybe Google can take some of these stations up. I hope to have WiFi connections in all 6000 stations in the next 120 days in the spirit of partnership.
He highlighted the need for partnership in making this possible and urged Google to partner with railways to provide free WiFi in more stations
When will Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal provide free WiFi to the people of Delhi?
Arvind Kejriwal, who just makes promises, had said that he will implement free WiFi in entire Delhi but it has been years after his government has been to power. Yet the people of Delhi are not lucky enough to get free WiFi as promised by Mr Kejriwal.
In few places, though he have implemented free WiFi facilities, there is a regular connectivity problem which disrupts the user experience.
In 2017, a report had said “More than two years after it came to power in Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) promise of free WiFi is yet to take off”. A resident of Delhi had said “We used our mobile internet only. My phone had caught the WiFi signal once or twice maybe in the initial days, but that too was mired by slow speed”.
Arvind Kejriwal couldn’t even provide free WiFi to his state whereas the Modi government will be providing free WiFi to 6000 railway stations within the next 4 months. So the Delhi CM should shed his arrogance and focus on uplifting his people.
It has been nearly 5 years, but Mr Kejriwal hasn’t done anything substantial for the people of Delhi other than ridiculing the Modi government for each and every issue.
