It was earlier this year when Ajay Devgn had announced his ambitious project Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior which was supposed to go on floors by now. However, the project got delayed as they as they faced casting woes. The film, now in the pre-production stage, is expected to roll soon but it seems Ajay had a hard time convincing his Omkara co-star Ajay Devgn to play a sidekick in the movie if a report in Deccan Chronicle is believed.
Apparently, Saif had taken a vow to not play the second fiddle to any hero in a film after Kal Ho Na Ho where he was seen sharing screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. It apparently took a lot from Ajay who personally met and convinced him to take up the role, which according to him is very unique and challenging and is a vital role. If Saif finally gives his nod, it will be interesting to see how their chemistry exudes onscreen.

About the same, the source informed DC that neither Saif nor the studio has confirmed this latest development so it is not sure if Saif has finally taken up the movie or not. If rumoursare to be believed, Kajol might also be a part of the movie. No official confirmation on the same has been received so far.
Meanwhile, Saif has Bazaar releasing soon. He was last seen in Netflix original series Sacred Games. On the other hand, Ajay has Total Dhamaal releasing this November wherein he is seen alongside Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor among others. The movie promises to be a rollercoaster.
